JACK O’LANTERN’S NOTEBOOK:
If I were to nail down my writing-work-ethic, and to create a symbolic deity out of an earth idol:
I’d be worshiping the Tortoise.
I harvest no rebukes – it is a fantastic God to worship.
I will lay blame without shame that my writing-work-ethic is Consistently Lackadaisical.
Now, I do not mean that I am Consistently Lackadaisical.
I do mean, however, that I am Lackadaisically Consistent, in that, I consistently write every day, with a type, or air, of
I have a motive that will not let me halt, which I taker to in a careless & effortless manner.
And so, because of my ease, the papers are consistently printing,
whilst I pay refuge & worship
The Divine Tortoise.
